Mining Safety Round Table

Strategize, Optimize

Situation

The Mining Safety Round Table (a group of mining safety leaders) sought to develop a Maturity Model for supervisory leadership development. The group chose me based on subject matter expertise and award-winning work.


O Consulting Assessment & Solution

  1. Identified best practices in effective supervisory leadership development.
  2. Designed and developed a 5-level maturity model and workshop to guide mining organizations through the journey to effectiveness and safe production.
  3. Conducted multiple sessions of the workshop at the MSRT global conference.

The Outcome:

  1. Fourteen mining companies attended the MSRT conference and applied the Maturity Model for their own organizations.
  2. Lead to O Consulting securing several mining contracts, including two ongoing retainers.

Non-profit Company

Situation

A growing non-profit organization faced internal challenges in achieving its growth goals.

  1. Conducted an in-depth business analysis that led to the development of an operational plan in alignment with the overall strategy.
  2. Developed and facilitated an all-staff retreat that engaged staff in operationalizing the plan.
  3. Coached the (inexperienced) CEO on what and how to share his vision with staff.

Designed, developed, and facilitated a customized “Savvy Small Business Manager” 10- module program specific to the business, including topics such as:

The Outcome:

  1. Learnings were implemented immediately preceding the pandemic.

training departments servicing different end-users.

  1. Conducted an in-depth business analysis of training functions and processes that surfaced gaps and opportunities.
  2. Designed a new structure emphasizing a centralized shared service model for the training functions.
  3. Led the change management project to transition 100% of impacted employees to new roles.

The Outcome:

  1. Successfully completed the transition to the new structure while retaining all employees.
  2. New VP of Learning was hired to lead the central program.
  3. Feedback received that change was carried out effectively.
